Sport For Life: Navigating the Harms of Canadian Residential Schools

September 7 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm

To our Sport for Life champions,

Join us for:  Xe Xe Smun’ Eem Our Sacred Children: Navigating the Harms of Canadian Residential Schools (English Webinar)

Thursday, September 7, 2023, 10-11:30 a.m. PDT | 1-2:30 p.m. EDT

Join us for a powerful and enlightening webinar as Eddy Charlie, a courageous survivor of Kuper Island Residential School, the “Alcatraz of Residential Schools,” shares the devastating impacts of what residential schools did to children who were forced to attend these federal government and church-run institutions. We will hear how these impacts changed survivors and whole communities as a result.

Alongside Eddy is his close friend Kristin Spray, whose quest for understanding led her to join Eddy in their shared mission. Together, they will emphasize the importance of their work in raising awareness, advocating for Indigenous educational opportunities, and fostering healing.

This webinar is an essential opportunity to gain insights into the realities of intergenerational trauma, the path in truth-telling, and the vital role we all play in creating a more inclusive society.

Please note that the webinar will discuss distressing topics. We encourage attendees to prioritize self-care, a message we’ll reiterate at the start of the session.
