On May 30, 2018 we hosted a Kairos Blanket Exercise prior to the Prairie Central District AGM. Special thanks to the town of Watrous for access to the space and for setting up the chairs. There were 26 participants from the communities of Watrous, George Gordon First Nation, Hanley, Manitou Beach, Humboldt, Strasbourg and Wynyard. Four attendees were self-declared First Nations or of Metis ancestry. There were four facilitators and one Elder.
The Prairie Central District and the Elbow & District Museum & Historical Society hosted a Kairos Blanket Exercise on Sunday April 29, 2018 from 2:00pm-4:30pm at the Elbow Civic Centre.
We want to thank Kathy & Ivan Hitchings and the entire Kairos team for guiding us through the history of Turtle Island. This experiential and emotional blanket exercise has helped open our hearts, minds and spirits. It is just the start of the reconciliation process. We also extend our thanks to the Elbow and District Museum and Heritage Society for bringing together a room full of people from communities such as Elbow, Outlook, Loreburn, Davidson and Craik to share in the Exercise.
“It’s hard to know where you are going, if you don’t know where you have been.”
