LEADING THROUGH CHANGE
June 9, 2020
Community Consultant – Crystal Longman
On June 9, 2020 our staff joined the Saskatchewan Camps Association for the Leading Through Change Workshop facilitated by Wendy Plandowski. It was a board development workshop that focused on how organizations could meet the need for change and continue to achieve their missions through Covid-19. Wendy did a great job of highlighting a number of leadership principles and tools to help us through this ‘once in a lifetime opportunity’ – see 10 Key Elements of Leading Change.
Our host partner summed up the workshop nicely:
“I really appreciated what Wendy shared with us. It was so helpful for me at the SCA – I am currently working on refining and defining our strategic plan so I LOVED all the tools she provided. I also heard some great feedback from our camp attendees saying they appreciated the content and found it helpful, going beyond their expectations :)”
– Holly Epp, Executive Director of Saskatchewan Camps Association
Thanks to our facilitator, our partner, and our funders for a great morning of learning.
SOCIAL MEDIA ESSENTIALS
April 23, 2020
Community Consultant- Aileen Martin
On Thursday, April 23, 2020 during National Volunteer Week, PCD hosted an amazing afternoon workshop on Social Media Essentials with Brooke Spagrud from Creative-i Marketing and Consulting.
We had over 40 people interested in the workshop but could only allow 25 to join us! It was amazing how COVID has actually brought us as a District closer together. Out of our 25 guests we had folks from the communities of Strasbourg, Watrous, Humboldt, Coteau Beach, Earl Grey, Imperial, Kelvington, Allan, Kannata Valley, Kenaston, Loreburn, Dundurn, Rose Valley, WhiteCap, Bruno, St.Brieux, Craven and Southey.
The workshop was so packed with rich information, handy tips and tricks and tangible aids and solutions to ideally make all our social media platforms shine above the rest!
Brooke also showed us the analytical side of thing… I know what you’re thinking, analytics- boring! But man, oh man, did we learn a lot!
“ you can achieve more by developing a strategy that identifies who your intended audience is & then tailoring your message”
100% of participants would recommend this workshop, many even commented that they want to do it again.
Here are a few other comments post workshop…
“For a free session this workshop contained a lot of useful information. I’ve attended others where the presenters just gave insights but not real how to’s. This was of tremendous value to non- profit organizations. “
“…this was wonderful, I was a little worried about zoom at the start but glad I could see some smiles (…and dogs and roofs) I like how relaxed it was with everyone drinking their coffee together and learning.”
We want to thank everyone again for joining us, and hope to “see” you again soon.
