National Indigenous Physical Activity & Wellness conference

May 15 - May 16

Join Canada’s largest gathering celebrating Indigenous sport, health and wellness; this year with a focus on motivating youth in sports.

This is the nation’s largest conference on Physical Activity & Wellness for First Nations, Métis and Inuit people, created for all of those with an interest in sports, recreation, fitness and traditional activity. Join May 15-16, 2026 (Friday and Saturday) for this exciting conference either in person at the Dakota Dunes Resort on Whitecap Dakota First Nation territory or virtually.

We are excited to bring together over 30 diverse leader voices at NIPAW 2026, where they will share perspectives on the vital role of Indigenous knowledge and community based practices that enhance wellness. This year, conference will focus on motivating youth to be involved in sport. By centering this year’s dialogue on youth motivation, we hope to create space for grounded discussions on how sport can uplift our young people, honour traditional ways of being active and strengthen community wellness for future generations.
