Saskatchewan Youth Choir (SYC) is an exciting opportunity for talented youth ages 15 – 22 to perform in an SATB balanced choir with like-minded singers from across Saskatchewan.  The program develops singers ready to participate in premier vocal ensembles across Canada. Singers 18 years of age and older will be eligible to represent Saskatchewan as part of the National Youth Choir of Canada.

As part of their training, singers will prepare a varied program of exciting repertoire designed to enthrall audiences of all ages at a final concert.

For the 2026-2027 season the Saskatchewan Youth Choir will be under the direction of guest conductor, Kitbielle Pasagui. The guest conductor will choose the repertoire for the season and lead the choir for all weekend rehearsals and the final performance.

Dates:  December 2026- March 2027

Activities:
Singers must be prepared to commit to the following dates:
1. December 5, 2026 – Virtual meet-and-greet Saturday at 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm)
2. January 29-31, 2027 – Rehearsal Weekend (Friday evening to Sunday Noon)
3. February 19-20, 2027 – Rehearsal Weekend (Friday evening to Saturday late afternoon)
4. March 4-6, 2027 – Rehearsal/Performance Weekend (Thursday evening to Saturday late afternoon)

Please note that participation in ALL scheduled rehearsals and performances is mandatory for accepted choristers.

Cost:  $393.75 (GST included)
Includes choral training (sectionals, rehearsals & workshops), snacks and supper meal for Saturday, January 30th, and meals during final rehearsal and performance weekend, and complimentary SCF Student membership valid until October 31, 2027.

All rehearsals and performances will be held in Regina. Further information on the exact location will be provided upon acceptance. Travel to and from rehearsal weekends will not be covered. Singers will be responsible for their own accommodation for weekend rehearsals. Upon acceptance, out-of-town singers will be provided with special rate hotel information. Meals will not be covered except for those noted above. However, snacks will be provided for all weekend rehearsals. Singers may wish to bring their own meals if they choose or if they have special dietary requirements.
