As the weather warms, June invites us to come together in reflection, learning, and celebration. Throughout the month, we honour the histories, traditions, and diversity of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples throughout Turtle Island while recognizing the ongoing work of truth and reconciliation. This month also brings Pride Month, National Indigenous Peoples Day, and the summer solstice, offering many opportunities to gather and deepen our relationships with one another.

In June 2026, DWF invites people throughout Canada to join us in Walking Together: Celebrating Indigenous History Month. All month long, DWF will share ways you can take part, wherever you are on your reconciliation journey.
Walking Together is a call to move beyond awareness into meaningful engagement. It invites all people in Canada to approach reconciliation as an ongoing responsibility by listening deeply, learning with care, and celebrating alongside Indigenous communities.
